Gadgets We’re Most Excited About: Sept. 2025

These are not product recommendations, or based on client work in any way. Rather than giving you a curated blog article, we wanted you to know how we, as humans, think.

  • Marcelo (CEO): I can’t pick just one, so here are two.
    1) Oddly enough I have been a headphone junkie for most of my adult life. Right now, I am most hyped about my new Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones. These things conduct audio through your bones! They sound remarkable, and you won’t die while strolling through a busy city. They are also incredibly comfortable for those with sensitive weird earholes like me.
    2) My Fujifilm GFX 100s ii is INCREDIBLE. I have recently gotten into hiking national parks with this beast, and the images speak for themselves. Though I like to think of myself as a good photographer, check out these images. https://www.instagram.com/caffelli.photography
  • Matt (Technical Director): I recently got the Ultrahuman Ring AIR 2, and despite it constantly reminding me that I’m stressed (fair, but harsh), I’m impressed by what it can do. At just 2.4 grams, it tracks all my biometrics without the bulk of a smartwatch or the awkwardness of wearing a fitness band to sleep. What really sets Ultrahuman apart is their no-subscription model and complete data ownership—you pay once and the device is yours, with full access to everything it tracks. While they’re currently in a legal battle with Oura (who, in my opinion, is clearly in the wrong here), Ultrahuman continues to deliver a superior product with a platform that keeps expanding with new features. If you’re in the market for health tracking that doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a computer on your wrist, it’s worth checking out.
  • Matt M (Director of Project Management): Since having a kid I’ve admittedly had less time to enjoy my own gadgets, but the passion I do have for games, PC building, and mini-hobbies like creating video/photos never changes. I’m most excited to share those collections with little Ben as he grows.
  • Omar (Senior Project Manager): I’m excited for the continued development of spatial computing, particularly after getting my hands on an Apple Vision Pro recently. Although the tech feels very first-gen, I say with zero hyperbole that it is the most marvelous device I’ve ever interacted with and if this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see the tech after a few revisions and improvements are made.
  • Mike (Assoc. Director Paid Media): The next gadget on my list to get is a Fender Mustang Micro Plus – a digital headphone amplifier that’s smaller than a wallet, with 25 built-in amps and 25 effects presets. I got to mess around with the original Micro when it came out a few years ago and was blown away by the variety and quality of amp tones. These days I just play for fun at home and mostly acoustic, but I think this powerful little pocket amp could be my perfect inspiration to pick up the electric guitar again. • Chris (Senior Writer): Can there be any better gadget than a Game Boy made from LEGO bricks? I submit that there can not! With the LEGO-made gaming consoles in full bloom, October is the first month where these in-depth models match not only my interests but also my wallet since $59.99 is exceptionally reasonable indeed. • John (Paid Media Coordinator): As someone who loves to explore and learn new languages, I’m incredibly excited to see the development of AI-generated language learning software and tools such as Talkpal. Memorizing vocabulary and grammar can feel isolated and distant from the real-time feedback you get through conversation with native speakers to truly grasp the nuances and finer details of a given language. Having a tool like Talkpal at my disposal is a game-changer for the practical effectiveness of my approach to language learning, and I am really looking forward to see what kind of progress I can make with this type of technology.
  • Dylan (Junior Project Manager): My most used gadget over the last few months has been my Nintendo Switch 2. Despite my raging Nintendo fanaticism, I have been enjoying the new look and feel that the console offers. Not to mention the amazing exclusive games. I’m incredibly excited to see the game lineup as the console grows into the role that the original Nintendo Switch held. The future of gaming is mobile!
  • Ryan (Senior Technical Writer): Hands down, easy pick. I’d say the upcoming handheld PCs like the ROG Xbox Ally. I love tech that’s meant for mobility, especially when it means gaming on the go. I’m always interested in seeing how technology becomes smaller, more efficient, and more performant. 🥸
